In Brief.

Jackhammer cover pic We would like to thank the team from Hutchinson Builders for their assistance. We found it quite difficult finding a location with access to a reliable power supply where we could safely use these machines. Despite their busy schedule, the Hutchinson crew at this building site were helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about these machines & their respective pros & cons.

The Bosch GSH16-30 certainly turned a few heads during the review & we gave it the highest rating of all the machines reviewed. The TradeTools Direct TTD65BH also deserves a mention. It is simply outstanding value for money & seems right up there with far more expensive brands in terms of overall ability. We are always advised that is has proven to be almost as reliable as well!

What We Did.

We found a 150mm thick concrete path that needed to be removed & made a start at removing it - an excavator was ready to finish the job incidentally! We took note of how each machine ‘felt’ & made comparative judgements as to how quickly each machine performed the task. We asked our builders for their opinion & their comments have formed an important part of this review; thanks again!

What would we buy? The answer, as is often the case, not as simple as it would seem & very much depends on how the machine will be used. To a plumber for example, who needs a general purpose machine to clean up the occasional trench, create a pipe sized opening in a wall or rip up some old tiles, we would recommend the TradeTools Direct TTD65. For a builder in need of a powerful heavy duty machine, & where price is not a major factor, we find it difficult to recommend anything other than the Bosch GSH16-30. However, if the builder needs to balance his budget, then the TradeTools Direct TTD65BH is certainly well worth considering.
